Reductio
Privacy Policy
Reductio doesn’t collect your data. Your photos and videos are processed on your device, there’s no account, and the app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking.
What Reductio does with your library
With your permission, Reductio reads your Photos library to find items in older formats and to show their sizes. It makes smaller HEIC and HEVC copies on your device. A copy is added to Photos only when you choose to save it, and an original is removed only after you confirm. Photos and iCloud Photos, which are operated by Apple, store and sync your library under Apple’s terms.
Reductio never uploads your photos, videos or their details to its developer or to any third party.
What is stored on your device
- A local index of your library: identifiers, formats, sizes and protection reasons.
- Measurements of sample copies, and the samples themselves for up to 24 hours.
- A history of each optimisation and duplicate clean-up, so interrupted work can be checked and recovered.
- Your choices, such as items you’ve marked “Never Optimise”, and app preferences.
This information stays inside the app on your device and is excluded from device backups. Temporary working files are removed when they’re no longer needed. You can clear the index at any time in Settings → Clear Scan Results. Deleting the app removes its local data; items you saved to Photos remain in Photos.
Contacts, Calendar and Reminders
These permissions are optional and requested separately, only when you choose to use those reviews. Reviews are read-only and held in memory while open. Reductio doesn’t store, upload, edit or remove your contacts, events or reminders. vCard files are read or written only when you explicitly choose a file.
Purchases
Reductio Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes payments; Reductio never receives your payment details. The app reads your App Store transactions on device to confirm whether Pro is active.
Network activity
Reductio doesn’t operate servers and doesn’t send your data anywhere. Network connections are made by Apple services on your behalf: downloading originals stored in iCloud when you allow it, and the App Store for purchases.

Reductio doesn’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
